This was a really exciting end-to-end game right from the kick-off. The Aces had the better of the first half and deservedly went in 2-0 up at half-time, thanks to goals by Calvin & Dylan. The second half was edged by Middleton who immediately pulled a goal back only for Nathan to increase the Aces lead to 3-1. Unfortunately with just 10 minutes left Middleton sneaked a second goal and began to put a bit of pressure on the Aces defence, which resulted in a penalty being given with minutes to go. The penalty was converted and despite a late flourish by the Aces the game ended 3-3 which was a great result against last years champions. Dylan won the man-of-the-match award mainly due to his excellent first half performance, although the whole team battled well in a physical but never dirty game.
On the whole both sides should be happy with the draw which was a fair result, but the Aces will be the happier team after such a committed performance and very nearly a win.
