Sat 24 Feb 2007  League Cup
Aces 2
Kyle Maher (1)
Bailey Ashburner (1)
Beachfield Tornados 1

Today saw the visit of Beechfield Tornados, our 3rd meeting this season; both the previous games were won by Barr Hill, but would it be a hat trick. The return of Bailey and Callum McRae means we're back to full strength.
1st half kicks off and it's the Aces moving forward. Some sound defending by Beechfield denies the Aces early in the game. Barr Hill continue to attack and it's not long before the Aces score the opening goal through Kyle Maher, his 1st for the season and a cracking shot from just outside the area. The Aces continue to press and are unlucky not to score more, but at half time the Aces go in a goal to te good.
A couple of changes are made before the second half gets under way. Beechfields defending has been of the highest quality in the 1st half, but it's not long before Bailey puts the Aces 2 - 0 up. Beechfield continue to defend resolutely and despite some half chances the Aces can't find a way through. Halfway through the second half and Beechfield score to make it 2 - 1 to the Aces. Some more good passing from the Aces, but they can't find a way through. Callum Leach in the Aces goal makes a great save with not long left and the Aces recored their 4th win in the cup.
Finanl Score
Barr Hill Aces 2 - 1 Beechfield Tornados.
